  •  Meaning of Psychology:


The word Psychology is derived from the Greek words Psyche and Logos.


Psyche means soul

Logos means study


Psychology is the study of the soul.

Outlines of Psychology:

  1. Study of the soul
  2. Study of the mind
  3. Study of consciousness
  4. Study of behavior

In this way, four important aspects can be seen.


Mainly, as Woodworth has said, psychology first lost its soul, then lost its mind, and then lost its consciousness.

According to Crowe: Psychology is the study of human behavior and human relationships.Branches of Psychology:


There are two main branches, namely:

  2. Applied Psychology

  3. Developmental Psychology
  4. Physiological Psychology
  5. Experimental Psychology
  6. Social Psychology
